Time anything with a browser stopwatch that shows hundredths of a second, records laps and marks the fastest and slowest lap.
Quick answer: Press Start to begin timing, Lap to record a split without stopping the clock, and Stop to pause. The stopwatch shows hundredths of a second and marks your fastest and slowest laps.
Enter the details the tool needs, then review the result before using it.
Use the controls above, check the result, then copy or download it when available.
Each lap shows two numbers. Lap time is how long that split took, measured from the previous lap. Total is the time since you pressed Start. If you record laps of 30, 28 and 31 seconds, the totals are 30, 58 and 89 seconds.
With two or more laps, the fastest and slowest are marked so you can see how steady your pace was.
| Lap 1 | 00:30.00 (total 00:30.00) |
|---|---|
| Lap 2 | 00:28.00 (total 00:58.00), the fastest |
| Lap 3 | 00:31.00 (total 01:29.00), the slowest |
The stopwatch reads the browser's high-resolution clock, so the running total stays correct even if the page is busy or the tab is hidden. Your own reaction time when pressing the buttons adds a small error, usually a fraction of a second.
That is fine for workouts, cooking, presentations and games. For official or competitive timing, use certified equipment.
Runners and swimmers use laps for splits, students time practice questions and presenters check how long each section takes. Copy the laps as text into a notes app or spreadsheet when you are done.
