Editorial Process
Every guide and tool page on Internet Toolbox goes through the same short process: research, draft, review, publish, revise when the underlying rules or rates change. This page describes that process so you can judge for yourself how much to trust a given calculation or explanation.
Step 1
Finance and tax guides cite the primary regulator or authority for the jurisdiction the guide covers — the Income Tax Department (incometax.gov.in), the Reserve Bank of India (rbi.org.in), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (sebi.gov.in) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (cbic.gov.in) for India-facing content.
Developer and technology guides cite the corresponding standard or authoritative reference — RFCs, W3C specifications, MDN, OWASP guidance and NIST publications. External links open in a new tab and carry rel="noreferrer".
Step 2
Every substantive guide includes at least one worked example with real numbers so a reader can reproduce the calculation by hand. Finance examples use rupee amounts and the specific tax year or rate assumption the guide covers.
An initial draft may be AI-assisted, but every formula, statutory reference, rate and number is hand-verified against the cited source before publication. The named author, not the model, takes responsibility for the final published version.
Step 3
A guide is reviewed by a second reader — where possible, someone other than the author — for factual accuracy, unclear phrasing, missing caveats and dead or misleading links. That reviewer's name and review date appear on the article as “Reviewed by [Name] on [date]”.
Tool pages that ship without a separate guide still carry a per-tool overview, best-for note, tip and limitation drafted specifically for that tool. Templated or duplicated copy is a bug and is treated as one.
Step 4
India tax slabs, GST rates, PPF and small-savings interest rates and central bank policy rates change on a known cadence. When a rate or rule cited in a guide changes, we update the guide, bump the updatedAt date and re-verify the worked example. The homepage and category pages surface the most recently updated guides so the freshest work is easy to find.
Guides that are no longer accurate and cannot be brought up to date are removed or superseded rather than left visible with a stale date.
Step 5
If you spot a factual error, a broken example, or a source that no longer supports the claim it's attached to, email business.factoalbum@gmail.com or use the feedback link in the footer. We aim to respond within three business days and to publish material corrections the same week.
Every correction updates the guide's updatedAt date. Substantive corrections that change an example, a formula or a recommendation are noted at the bottom of the article.
Scope
Finance, tax and investing guides are educational explanations of publicly available rules and math. They are not personalized financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Before acting on a specific calculation, verify the current rate or rule with the relevant authority and, for material decisions, consult a qualified professional. See our full disclaimer.
Advertising and integrity
Advertising, when present, appears only on tool and guide pages and only in clearly separated slots. It never sits inside a tool's input or result area, and it never appears on trust pages such as this one, the privacy policy or contact. Advertisers have no input into which tools we build or what a guide concludes.
